First off.. PLEASE FULL VIEW! PLEASE! Otherwise you won't be able to see ANY of it's tiny details, which is the best part.
This drawing is honestly one of the most FRUSTRATING pieces I've ever drawn, but it also turned out as one of my best and favorite.
I started drawing this around...November-ish, and I finished January, because it was like an on-and-off thing for me. By far the most time-consuming picture too...I timed myself around 30 hours on it, not including all the time I spent touching up on it after I finished. First attempt at drawing glass, so if it looks un-glassy, egh...just bear w/ me here >.<
And yes, I know the porportions are horrifyingly off, much apologies ;
This is one of those pics which I intended as just an experiment for new stuff, mainly primsa markers, my dear white gel pen, and a different coloring style. Awhile ago I got a 72-pack prismacolor markers, but I had no clue how to use them, so in here, I used it along w/ my prismacolor pencils. First laying coloring was just the basic colors w/ color pencil, but then I messed around w/ my markers and made all of the colors more vivid and smoothed out. Then I took my white gel pen that I never really use and added a bunch of sparkles and lines (sunlight), so the shiny-ness of the piece stands out more.
All in all, buckets of sweat and much hair tearing to draw this thing, but I'm happy with it
And yes, she's an angel, and her halo, wings, and flowers are made of glass =]
Time: 30+ hours
Materials: Sakura Micron 005 + 01, primsacolor pencils and markers, white jellyroll gel pen, drawn on big 11x14 artpad
The details are amazing! I've been looking for artwork done with Prismacolor markers to see how they blend and stuff, and this pic is a great example. It really makes me want to just go out and buy a set of markers and go crazy! As for 30+ hours of work you spent on this piece, I say you've done an excellent job!
I can't believe you did this when you were 14 or 15 years old. I simply love it! The colours, the sparkles, especially the lines, everything! Congratulations!... and many, many hugs, of course!
